Dr. Mercer loves being a veterinarian because of all of the interesting people and pets she meets. She enjoys the variety of general practice, where she gets to see cases in many different areas of medicine. She loves all animals, especially the house hippo (aka the American pit bull terrier). 

Dr. Mercer joins The Ark Veterinary clinic from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where she graduated from Louisiana State University with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. She is originally from South Carolina and decided to come to Oregon for all of its beautiful outdoor recreation opportunities. Dr. Mercer enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and camping in her spare time. A fun fact about Dr. Mercer is that she once helped build a Lego wheelchair for a pet turtle named Pedro, who became a minor internet sensation in the process!
