Dr. Mercer loves being a veterinarian because of all of the interesting people and pets Dr. Mercer meets. Dr. Mercer enjoys the variety of general practice, while getting to see cases in many different areas of medicine. Dr. Mercer loves all animals, especially the house hippo (aka the American pit bull terrier). 

Dr. Mercer joins The Ark Veterinary clinic from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after graduating from Louisiana State University with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Dr. Mercer is originally from South Carolina and decided to come to Oregon for all of its beautiful outdoor recreation opportunities. Dr. Mercer enjoys hiking, rock climbing, and camping. A fun fact about Dr. Mercer is that Dr. Mercer once helped build a Lego wheelchair for a pet turtle named Pedro, who became a minor internet sensation in the process!
